Large-format paintings available paintings

My paintings begin with the construction of their foundation, which I call the “skin.” This consists of sheets of traditional Portuguese papel de bacalhau, built up with multiple layers of plaster and paper, and finally covered with old bedsheets coated in plaster.

This process has become a distinctive part of my artistic language, a personal signature that I have developed and refined over the years.

Whenever I work on a traditional stretched canvas instead, this is specified in the artwork's description.

The frames are designed by me and handcrafted by a carpenter I have worked with for many years. They are made from either birch or poplar plywood.

Obras de Grande Formato Disponíveis

Os meus quadros começam com a construção da sua base, a que chamo “pele”. Esta consiste em folhas de papel de bacalhau tradicional português, sobrepostas com várias camadas de gesso e papel e, por fim, revestidas com lençóis antigos cobertos de gesso.

Este processo tornou-se uma parte distintiva da minha linguagem artística, uma assinatura pessoal que desenvolvi e aperfeiçoei ao longo dos anos.

Sempre que trabalho sobre uma tela tradicional montada em grade, essa informação é indicada na descrição da obra.

As molduras são desenhadas por mim e executadas artesanalmente por um carpinteiro com quem trabalho há muitos anos. São feitas em contraplacado de bétula ou de choupo.
